Training and deployment of nursing associates in nursing homes – adding value to the workforce - Wednesday 24 April, 2 to 3pm

Jointly hosted by HEE, Care England and Skills for Care, this webinar will provide employers in social care with information about how the new nursing associate role can strengthen and support your workforce.

Representatives from two nursing homes that have already embraced the role will be sharing the benefits they have felt, and how they have overcome any challenges they have faced. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

The nursing associate is a new regulated role that acts as a bridge between the unregulated healthcare assistant and the registered nurse. Nursing associates are becoming a vital part of the wider health and social care team, providing valuable support to registered nurses and enabling them to focus on more complex clinical duties. They are educated to work with people of all ages and in a variety of settings across health and social care. The deployment of apprentice nursing associates within the nursing and residential care home sector is now being regarded as a priority for workforce planners and commissioners.
