Employment Guidance

Our commercial partners offer a range of resources that can help you work through covid related employment issues.

A key area to be aware of is the Vaccination as a Condition of Deployment (VCOD) regulations. From 11th November 2021, anyone deployed within a care home must be vaccinated (currently that means two doses of an approved and recognised vaccine) or exempt, and able to evidence their vaccination or exemption status with an NHS Covid Pass. Registered Managers are responsible for ensuring they have a record of seeing this evidence.

CQC are responsible for regulating these requirements are being complied with.

Following a consultation over the autumn of 2021, the government has now passed regulations to extend the requirement to be vaccinated to people proving health and social care in other settings. This will apply to home care providers.

Staff must be fully vaccinated by 1st April 2022.

SCA has fed into a Cabinet Office report for DHSC on "lessons to be learnt" from the implementation of VCOD in care homes.

Please contact SCA (sca@surreycare.org.uk) for advice and signposting to expert help.
