The home achieved outstanding in both the responsive and effective categories, with inspectors impressed by how fully person centred the approach was, be it the dining and eating experience, the lifestyle and well-being programme or just genuine compassion.

The Report begins "Everyone described Princess Christian in outstanding terms. People, relatives, professionals and staff described how the service was safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led to the best that it could be and was always looking to improve further. The values of caring, compassion, communication, competence, commitment and courage ran through the service and were continually measured to ensured good outcomes for people."

Martin Barrett, Nellsar's Managing Director was quoted "I couldn't be more proud to see the wonderful people at Princess Christian recognised for what they do. This report reflects how Mario provides inspirational leadership to the team and the genuine belief that we can make today better than yesterday. Every staff member at the home is a vital and valued part of the bigger picture and we know that by putting our residents at the heart of our decision-making process, we are guided by them. Princess Christian is a very special place and I am honoured to be a part of it."

Princess Christian and Nellsar are members of the Surrey Care Association and have found membership to be invaluable. "The SCA has supported the development of Princess Christian in many ways," says Mario Taherian (General Manager) "The meetings and seminars inform us of things CQC or the CCG are looking for as well as new, exciting developments in the industry. Many of the Association's commercial partners have helped us to save money or improve staff relations, so we consider membership to be a mark of quality as both an employer and service provider."
