FIRST AID for MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING COURSE

RQF Level 2 Award Qualification

Wednesday 27th February, Wednesday 27th March & Wednesday 24th April 2019

Timings: 09:00-16:00 (Breaks & light refreshments included)

Duration: 6 hours Cost: Free (certificate included)

Venue: High Cross Church, Camberley, Surrey; GU15 3SY

This 1-Day free course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan as well as covering ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

Syllabus:

A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health?
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Stress
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Mental health conditions
  • First Aid for Mental Health action plan
  • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace

A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.

Assessment A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).

Certification: A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. There is no expiry of the qualification, but annual refresher training is recommended.
