Training and Employee Development

Annual Leave
Staff join Welmede with 25 days annual leave per annum plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time staff). This increases each year by one day up to 30 days.

Residential Services – Support Workers.
Full Time and Part Time.
Salary range £18,419 to £19,542
Working as part of a friendly staff team, you will be supporting service users with learning and physical disabilities who are living in a residential or care home setting. Use of a car is essential.
Hours: Providing 24 hours care and support, you will work to 38 hours per week which will comprise shift work, weekends, and Bank Holidays. You will also be required to undertake sleep-ins as required for which an additional payment is made.
Shift patterns are:
Early 7.00 am – 2.30 pm
Middle 1.30 pm – 9.00 pm
Late 8.45 pm – 7.15 am
In addition to providing support and care to service users, duties will include:
• supervision and administration of medication
• maintaining accurate administrative records
• ensuring health and safety of service users and staff
• actively participating in individual staff appraisals and team meetings
Ideally you will have worked as an Assistant Support Worker for at least 2 years and have, or be working towards NVQ level 2 in Care (or equivalent). Supervisory experience is essential, as is the ability to work in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and practice, including Health and Safety at Work.
Residential Services – Assistant Support Workers
Full Time and Part Time.
Salary range £14,735 to £15,632
Working as part of a friendly staff team, you will be supporting service users with learning and physical disabilities who are living in a residential or care home setting.

In addition to providing support and care to service users, duties will include:
• maintaining accurate administrative records and contribute towards assessment reports, having regard to confidentiality
• ensuring health and safety of service users and staff
• providing leisure activities and social networks
• assisting the service users with the management of their finances
• maintaining a clean environment, which will include domestic duties.
Ideally you will have experience of supporting or assisting people with learning disabilities or mental health needs with everyday living skills i.e. personal care and emotional wellbeing. You should be willing to undertake an NVQ level 2 in Care. The ability to work in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and practice, including Health and Safety at Work is essential, and you should be able to climb stairs. Ideally candidates should have use of a car for work purposes.
Supported Living – Part Time Support Workers
Salary range £18,419 to £19,542 pro rata
You will be part of an area team supporting service users living in their own homes where you may be required to support people with a variety of tasks from cooking, cleaning and personal care to shopping and leisure activities. You will need to be a car driver and have use of a vehicle for work purposes. Travel expenses will be paid.
Hours required will include mornings 7.00 am – 9.00 am, evenings 5.00 pm – 10.00 pm to include weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
