We have enlisted admin help to call providers if we don’t hear – but once your page is activated you will then need to populate your page. When we go live we will be giving this site a lot of publicity so make sure you are on there as soon as possible.

Affinity Training goes to the Wall (extract from Guid2Care)
Major NVQ training provider, Affinity Training Limited, has been put into administration after going bust.
Hundreds of UK Care Operators and International students, will lose fees paid in advance for NVQ training in Health and Social Care.
NVQ official awarding body OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) confirmed today that Affinity Training Ltd had ceased trading and had been put into “administration”, a technical term which basically means the company can no longer pay its creditors and is now under the control of an administrator or insolvency practitioner.
A spokesperson for the Administrators, Leonard Curtis said:
“Affinity Training has ceased trading and the assets have been transferred to a third party, and students (creditors) have little or no chance of recovering any fees paid to Affinity.”
You can contact the Birmingham based Administrators on 0121 200 2111.
You can read more on the Guide2Care website

Note from SCA – SCA have recently developed a quality training provider benchmark for Surrey providers to enable employers to check that the provider they use meets those standards. SCA market our own Surrey Train to Gain contract using established local providers who form our SCA Consortium.
RNCC update from SCC 29 July 2008
SCA through the Chairman Mike Roycroft and Board Directors made representation to SCC on the “clawback” of the RNCC payment. We have now received a letter advising of a change of decision for the period October 2007 to March 2008. This letter will go to all providers effected.

A new website at www.employingmigrantworkers.org.uk takes employers step-by-step through the procedure for checking that job applicants are entitled to work in the UK, including explanations of acceptable documentation. To avoid allegations of racial discrimination checks should be carried out for all potential employees, and must be done before the person is employed.
