Managing Safeguarding Concerns within the Context of the Care Act 2014

The Safeguarding Clauses within the Care Act 2014 were implemented on 1st April 2015. The changes have meant a major change in the way that safeguarding concerns should be responded to both by the Provider Organisation and by the Local Authority. This seminar will provide a useful refresher of the key changes brought about by the safeguarding clauses and give an opportunity for Managers to reflect upon how the changes should have been implemented within their own organisation and how organisations should work in partnership with the local authority.

This workshop will highlight and explain:

  • the key changes the Care Act brings in relation to Safeguarding Adults
  • the role and responsibility of the Provider within the Safeguarding response
  • how the local authority will respond to a safeguarding concern
  • explore how adults at risk should receive a safeguarding response that is personalised
  • explore changes that need to be considered within an organisations Safeguarding and wider Policy and procedures
