Developments in the policy for Do not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR)
Please note that NHS has launched a revised policy and paperwork for the Do Not attempt Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation. Please remove your old policy and replace it with a revised policy and paperwork which reflects the new guidance, This is a more comprehensive package then the previous one and consists of the following
1 Letter outlining the changes
2 DNACPR Red Form which is the client/ patients copy
3 DNACPR Grey form which is the record of the decision made.
4 Appendix 3 Which is a copy of the RCN/BM A/UK Reseus Statement
5 Appendix 4 Frequently asked questions
6 Appendix 5 Training programme / assessment for senior nurses
7 Appendix 6 Record of competency training.
I do appreciate this is a different approach to the previous one so if there are queries please email me. In addition if you would like to include this on the agenda for the next network meetings let me know and I will ask Lindsey CoeurBelle The End of Life Care Programme Manager at the PCT to come and speak to us.
