It was time for SCA to look to the future and to broaden their scope. The plans for the future development of the Association were presented initially at the SCA Conference in May 2005 and subsequently a Special General meeting was called on 19th July 2005 to pass the necessary resolutions to enable these plans to proceed. At the Special General meeting these resolutions were all passed unanimously.

The new Surrey Care Association Ltd will have wider objects than the former Association. It will become fully inclusive to represent the interests of all Independent Sector providers of Care and Support Services for Adults in Surrey. All functions and activities previously provided by the Association will continue, and be extended to include support for the development of the Social Care Workforce (previously provided through the Care Sector Development Project). SCA Ltd will also continue to work with the Statutory Sector to develop the Independent Care Sector to meet the present and future needs of the population of Surrey. The services will be extended to provide for Supporting People service providers as well as those providing services registered with the CQC.
